REACHING COMMUNITIES
A commitment to service
Over the years, our churches have done a lot of things that involved relief kind of work one way or another. We went into Western Romania for years and built simple little houses for incredibly poor people in that area. More recently, all of the churches were working on the Hungarian border, as the Syrian refugees were pouring up out of the Balkan peninsula.
We have also had ministries working with the homeless, in orphanages, and in homes for the elderly. We’ve had a camp every year in the summertime where all of the churches come together for a week. When you have a healthy church, the church is always reaching out.
So out of this group of churches and people has come the response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis. We were already in motion as a group, already working together, so it was a very easy thing for us to simply move into refugee care mode.
