Our world is changing!
Huge changes are occurring in Eastern Europe with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands are fleeing the bombs. Here we are in the middle of things, participating in our third refugee crisis in the last thirty years.
The situation is very fluid and fast moving. All day and all night they walk out of the border crossing area into Hungary.

UKRAINE REFUGEE UPDATE
More than 4000 people are crossing the border each and every day. Mothers come, exhausted with nothing but a bag or two, what money they could scrape together, their children and their grandparents. They’re shocked. They’re exhausted. They’re hungry. They’re thirsty.
In far too many cases, they have just stood night and day in a line with their children, for days on end. Sometimes in the snow and rain, they just need a place to, to lay down and sleep.
Harvest Eastern Edge has been here in Hungary for 27 years.

- our network of churches provide short and longer-term housing
- our churches provide love, counseling, and help with asylum paperwork
The needs are urgent!
Our network of churches is now feeding about 1000 meals a day to Ukrainian refugee families. Yes, it is really just as bad as you are seeing on the news every night. 7 out of 10 of the refugees are children. They are exhausted, shocked, and hungry.
Here is a very tangible way that you can touch their lives.
These people just need something to drink, a warm meal, and a place to sleep. We can offer them churches filled with mattresses on the floor and something to eat.

Someone asked me a couple of days ago, If I gave $100, how many people could you feed? Katy and I worked out the numbers and about 250 women and children are getting a hot meal for $100.

At Harvest Eastern Edge, our purpose is to stand with the national church. Long ago we stopped doing things for, and began to do things with our Hungarian friends. We first came to Budapest over three decades ago, after the fall of the Berlin wall and the iron curtain. Serving Churches
Our churches have become part of a larger Hungarian entity, the Free Christian Church. The movement is a very loyal and committed entity, although the churches themselves have a great deal of independence. We have been working for over 20 years with Hamori Attila and the other pastors of our own churches that we are organically part of.
